Civilian casualties in Ukraine jumped by 85% in September as Russia increased drone and missile attacks, according to the United Nations.

At least 328 civilians were killed and 2,105 injured in attacks last month, UN human rights monitors said in their monthly report on Friday. It was the highest September total since the start of Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion, with missiles and drones the main cause of casualties, they said.

That followed a Russian attack involving 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones targeting electricity plants.
