China's Finance Minister Lan Foan called on APEC members to work more closely together to boost growth at a time when the global economy has been rocked by rapid change and the fallout from geopolitical conflicts.

HONG KONG: The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum has an increasingly important role in helping the world economy tackle the challenges it faces, China's Finance Minister Lan Foan said on Tuesday (Oct 20).
“亚太经合组织作为全球经济增长的引擎，肩负着更大的责任，”蓝佛安在香港亚太经合组织财长会议开幕式上的讲话中表示。
"APEC, as an engine of global economic growth, shoulders greater responsibility," Lan said in remarks at the opening of the APEC Finance Ministers' meeting in Hong Kong.
他呼吁环太平洋集团的21个成员（包括美国、日本和俄罗斯）加强合作，以推动增长，当时全球经济正受到快速变化和地缘政治冲突后果的严重冲击。
He called on the 21 members of the Pacific Rim grouping, which includes the United States, Japan and Russia, to work more closely together to boost growth at a time when the global economy has been rocked by rapid change and the fallout from geopolitical conflicts.
蓝佛安还敦促各国政府在人工智能、数字经济和绿色领域发展方面开展合作，称这些努力将创造新的增长来源。
Lan also urged governments to cooperate on AI, the digital economy and green sector development, saying these efforts would create new sources of growth.

China, the world's second-largest economy, would continue comprehensive economic reforms, he said, without elaborating.
