Donald Trump said he didn’t order limitations on Ukraine’s access to SpaceX’s Starshield satellite technology and didn’t think Elon Musk did so either.
“It wasn’t me and I don’t think it was Elon,” he told reporters Friday, referring to the billionaire SpaceX founder. “I don’t know if it was anybody.”Trump’s remarks are the latest development in a lingering mystery as to how Ukraine’s Starshield access, a critical component in its air defenses against Russian drones, was restricted earlier this week.
Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy has accused both Trump and Musk of ordering the limits, which he says already have been directly responsible for civilian deaths. As of Thursday, the disruption was seen to have passed with Kyiv’s access restored. “From what I understand, it’s the same as it’s always been,” Trump said Friday.
